I’ve been spending the day getting prepared for this journey, thinking about what I want to see happen during this fast, what I believe God has called me to focus on during this time. I definitely feel called to do this and my primary goals are spiritual, but I also have a real sense of excitement about the physical changes I’m looking forward to experiencing. I wrote this during church this morning:
It begins here. Or should I say it ends here. Not “ends” in the sense of no higher place to strive towards, no more to learn or growth to take place, but the end of this particular level of living. The end of this particular battle that I have engaged in for years. What is the purpose of this fast? There will probably be a greater realization of things as I continue, but for now I believe:
1) Several major spiritual breakthroughs will occur that are too personal to mention here
2) Higher levels of consistently healthy living will take place as a result of this fast
3) This is a spiritual warfare fast that will bring God’s will that is in Heaven to Earth in my loved ones lives and in my life
